About this listen
NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY Bestselling Author Tina Folsom presents: Cain's Identity (Scanguards Vampires #9)
Scanguards bodyguard Cain struggles with amnesia, however, the curtain to his past finally begins to lift when a mysterious stranger appears, revealing that Cain was the victim of an assassination attempt. It turns out that not only is Cain a powerful vampire king, he's also engaged to Faye Duvall, the female vampire who's been haunting his dreams.
When Faye thinks Cain is dead, she's devastated and can only keep going because she knows her clan needs her. Out of loyalty and love for her fellow vampires, she agrees to marry Abel, Cain's brother, and is shocked when Cain returns to reclaim his throne.
Cain is determined to recapture the love he once shared with Faye. But the assassin won't give up and his ruthlessness knows no limits. Backed up by his loyal friends from Scanguards, Cain suddenly finds himself in a fight to the death and confronted with a choice: to either save his kingdom or his queen.

Narrator was not my taste.
Narrator was not my taste. Didn’t like the narrator’s tone and voices, especially for any female voice. They sounded so fake. Though I loved listening to this book, I sort of switched off with the accents and speech pattern. It is even worse listening to Cain explain about all the women he had been with, of which there were a lot. He defends his being a cheating a-hole by saying I DIDN’T KNOW YOU EXSISTED, IN MY DREAMS IT WAS ALWAYS YOU. Rubbish. Even worse, Faye just accepts the amnesia excuse and says DON’T BLAME YOURSELF. Cain could have been married or had children, so he should have been more careful, especially as he was dreaming about a woman. BOOK REVIEW Loses a star for his infidelity. Another enjoyable book to add to the Scanguards series with interesting characters but one very annoying action spoilt it for me. What a great plot twist this was but I never saw Cain being someone special in the previous stories. When someone from his old life surfaces, Cain returns to his surprising past. And in doing so he finally meets the woman he has been dreaming about. I didn’t like Cain’s double standards though. He has been with lots of women over the last year but gets pissy when he thinks Faye has been with someone else. He at least tells her that he has slept around but she is all, its okay you didn’t remember me. Faye was his Fiancée. What I can’t excuse is the fact he was DREAMING of this special woman but still slept around. He could have been MARRIED for all he knew.
