Narration was "born to be bad"!

I managed to force my way through about 2 and half books of this 3 book series, but it was a struggle! The story lines weren't bad, but either the narrator can't read properly or what she was reading was poorly written! There were so many mistakes, mispronunciations and emphasis on the wrong words that I couldn't bring myself to finish and I really tried! One example is "He reached up and cupped her hands in his face". Surely audio books are proof "listened to" as written books are proof read, so I can't understand how many errors slipped through!
