Story
Katie Collins has barely ever left her tiny Irish village of Ennisbawn. Why would she? With its tightknit community, friendly local pub, surrounded by glistening lakes and perfectly mysterious forests, it’s a place of peaceful beauty. Or it was peaceful. Until Callum Dempsey turned up. Part of a hotshot (and, Katie has to admit, hot is annoyingly apt for him...) development team with zero eye for beauty or charm, he’s not only building a hideous hotel just outside the village, he’s also just announced a plan to knock down Ennisbawn’s only remaining pub.

Story
At 22, Dan Brown came to the Bronx's P.S. 85 as an eager, fresh-faced teacher. Unbeknownst to him, his assigned class, 4-217, was the designated "dumping ground" for all fourth-grade problem cases, and his students would prove to be more challenging than he could ever anticipate. Intent on being a caring, dedicated teacher but confronted with unruly children, absent parents, and a failing administration, Dan was pushed to the limit time and again: he found himself screaming with rage, punching his fist through a blackboard out of sheer frustration, often just wanting to give up and walk away.

Publisher's Summary
Twenty-nine-year-old Lily Buckley planned to be happily married and in her dream job by now. Instead, she’s been single since being left at the altar three years ago, and works at her local paper, writing stories about giant vegetables at the village fete and a dog who looks exactly like Chewbacca. Not quite what she was dreaming of. So when Lily’s allowed to write her own column it’s exactly what she’s always wanted - except there's a catch. She has to do one thing every week that scares her then write about it.
With encouragement from a sexy colleague - and adrenaline-junkie - Christopher, Lily agrees. From sky-diving to haunted houses, Lily is going to be pushed to her limit. And since heartbreak has left her afraid of falling in love again, her growing feelings for Christopher might be the thing to push her past it. But then her mum has a crisis, and Lily's column is the only thing keeping her - and her colleagues’ - jobs afloat, and then Christopher’s ex arrives with her sights set on a romantic reunion.
Suddenly jumping out of a plane is the least of Lily’s problems... Can she save her family, her friends, and her heart - or will she let her fears hold her back? Great story but a hard listen.
The book was great a wonderful story of self awareness and growth, resilience and optimism. The characters all felt authentic and a who doesn’t happy ending?
However in this audible version all emotions were lost as the narrators voice was a hard listen as it was monotone and almost entirely devoid of emotion in a story that was filled with so many ups and downs. I couldn’t finish listening opting to revert to reading it myself which defeats the purpose of audible.
